Words of Welcome
Welcome to Religious Education (RE) at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Lower Bucks. One of the most important things we do, as a Fellowship, is to pass on our religious, ethical, and moral values to our children.
Unitarian Universalism is a creedless faith that presents a challenge of helping our children learn how to think about religion, as opposed to merely thinking about religious facts. We believe that there are many paths to truth. We affirm the uniqueness of each person in his or her spiritual development.
Our religious education program is designed with several aims in mind. We acquaint the children with Unitarian Universalist history and values and expose them to the richness of other traditions and religious ideals of the world. We foster a sense of intimacy regarding the interdependent web of existence of which we are all a part. Finally, we encourage them, out of these experiences, to fashion a faith of their very own.
Through a combination of well-established curricula, worship experiences, social service projects, social and self-reflective activities, we provide a well-rounded program. This program enables children to develop a knowledge and understanding of religious heritage, enhance spiritual growth, and develop a sense of responsibility for the world in which they live by fostering attitudes of justice, love, and peace. We encourage a nurturing environment where your children can openly express their religious feelings within a context of care and respect.
We invite you to become familiar with our program and hope that you will be an active participant of our loving, learning community. If we work together, we know that our journey will be an exciting and fulfilling one for ourselves, as well as our children. Download a PDF of our 2007-08 Religious Education Prospectus here.
